Welcome to the Largo Band of Gold Alumni Association Website. Whether you are a former member, supporter, or are unfamiliar with this great band, we invite you to "fasten your musical seat belts," then relax and enjoy some of the finest music ever performed by a high school band.
By the way, its always "tag day" at the Band of Gold website. So please, while you are here, drop a few dollars in the collection box to honor the Boss and help us support deserving high school seniors as they start their college careers.
MISSION STATEMENT
Preserving the history of the Largo Band of Gold, and perpetuating the legacy of director Robert R. Cotter by awarding scholarships to deserving students who exemplify the lessons he taught.
Band of Gold Display is Now Open at the Largo Historical Society
The Band of Gold exhibit at the Largo Historical Society is now complete! This is part of the Alumni Association's efforts to preserve our history, and we are thankful that the Historical Society has agreed to store and display our memorabilia. The display is permanent. We are grateful to the Largo Library for safely storing our memorabilia for many years until it was recently transferred. Because of the large amount of memorabilia we have, the display will change regularly since space is limited to one large display case, with room around it for dressed uniforms. The Historical Society's museum receives little outside funding, so viewing times are limited to open houses, which are held the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 until 2:00, except in December, July, and August. The address is 295 Central Park Drive in Largo, across the street from the Largo Library (inside the old Largo Feed Store). We hope you can visit soon!
