Hi to all you survivors of your years in the BOG. The thoughts of having a real quality web site to reunite us all is exciting and long over-due. My appreciation and thanks go to all of you for your hard work and dedication to this project. I hope all of you who have access to this mechanical monster we call a computer will participate and enjoy the reliving of wonderful friendships and events in our lives.

While I have had many great experiences in both music and business, the twelve years I spent with all of you in the BOG program were certainly the highlight of my life. To enumerate all of you who have meant so much to me would take more space than is possible in this note. Just let me say that all of you were important to the program. From the first seventy-seven in 1968 to the five hundred and fifty at the end, all played a part in producing a program that I doubt will ever be duplicated.

I am deeply indebted to the parents who so mightily supported the program, many times at great personal sacrifice. Without their support, nothing could have been accomplished. You were magnificent in meeting the demands and understanding the goals of an unrelenting, over bearing, sometimes impossible character called the "BOSS."

To the staff - words cannot express my gratitude. Without your hard work and dedication, we would never have achieved our goal of a World Championship. Again, I will not name you all for fear of omitting someone. You are all in my thoughts whenever I think of the BOG program. However, I will break my own rules (directors have that privilege) to pay tribute to my right-hand and conscience, Joe Donahey. Joe did so much for us. He can never be properly thanked. We all owe him a great debt. He is the only staff member to remind me from time to time that I was "full of it" and lived to tell the tale. Thanks Joe, for everything.

As I close these first few thoughts to the site, I want to thank all of you for your kind letters and emails. It is a pleasure to hear of your accomplishments and memories of the program. Let’s all help in making the BOG Alumni Association project an outstanding tribute to your dedication and accomplishments as students and adults.

More to come!

The best to you all,

"THE BOSS"
